Carters and Preacher

God's creations are amazing

Checking fences with Jake and Baylie and Missie.  The dogs were in charge of hazard patrol.

Hazard Patrol dereliction of duty and abandonment of post.

I got a lot of work out of Jake.  His nickname is "Flick' like on Bug's Life 'cuz he always has an idea........

Showing Maren what we got done while she was working at the hospital.

Maren wanted to stand as a height comparison.  She's about 5'7".  Baylie is about 18 inches.

This is Jake's evil, idea face.

We're In The Cow Business

Jill and Jake and I have been going to the Cattle Auctions looking for cows to eat the feed the Dairyman failed to chop and feed for us.  Jake and I bought two pairs at Marana Stockyards today.  We hauled them to Grampa's place, branded and vaccinated them and just like that, we're in the cow business.

We've had 8 inches of rain at the farm.  The big pond is FULL!

The spillway lost a little ground.....

Nature's greenery is out in full splendor!

Jake and Maren's Missy loves the pond

Missy keeps trying to coax Baylie to swim

Missy might be the better swimmer but Baylie can, apparently, walk on water!
There stands poor Baylie.  Ready to roll but lacking opposable thumbs.

Blocking escape routes before we drive the cattle down the chute.

Grampa giving Jake instructions

You do it like this.

Concentration

Jill's brand

Skinny cows and calves.  Let's get on the green feed and start  packing meat on those carcasses!

Max Tim Jake branding the little gal that didn't fit in the chute.

Day's end.  Tomorrow maybe a new horse?

Dog Days of Summer

The Haygrazer at the Marm is high,

Summer Monsoons have arrived in all their splendor  We have received over six inches of rain at The Marm.

The horse pastures are in great shape.

The runoff has filled our acre pond.

Toby and Baylie are the usual companions but we do get some treasured company from time to time.

Toby is the principle navigator.  He mainly attempts to navigate his way out the gate, down the lane, and in the neighbor's yard.  They have my cell # on speed dial, I'm certain.

This guy was not on the "Treasured company" list.

Baylie is still the main Branch Manager

Eight feet tall and risin'.  Looks like cows are next on the list.
